Kings Head Hotel *Centrally located in the Suffolk market town of Beccles, this 16th century coaching inn overlooks the main town square and provides excellent value for money. The coaching house origins are evident in the property’s authentic architecture, complete with sloping ceilings. The Kings Head Hotel serves simple and delicious food and good beer, all from welcoming staff who understand your business and leisure needs. An excellent cooked breakfast will give you a good start to the day, while in the evening you can relax by the log fire with a drink. The ancient town of Beccles sits on the River Waveney, just 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. There is a path alongside the river from where you can enjoy views across the marshes. Traditional home-cooked food is served for lunch and dinner, 7 days a week. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in public areas and is free of charge. By Car: From Ipswich: - Follow the A12 north until you can turn off for Beccles on the A145. - Follow this road all the way into Beccles and you will eventually come into the town and find the Kings Head Hotel on your left opposite Twyfords coffee house. From London/Cambridge: - On the A11 turn off for Diss on the A1066 at Thetford. - At Diss take the A143 to Bungay and continue on this road to Beccles. - This will eventually bring you onto the main Norwich/Lowestoft road (A146). - Then follow the signs for Beccles. - Turn off at the main roundabout by Beccles Safeway store and follow signs for the town centre. - At the mini roundabout turn right and go up to the traffic lights where you have to turn left. - Follow this road for 200 yards to the end, where you turn right. - 200 yards on your left you will then see the back of the Kings Head Hotel and the entrance to our car park. When travelling in East Anglia do take into account that we do not have the normal motorway network that most counties have and that journey times will therefore take longer. It takes a long time to get to anywhere in East Anglia but when you arrive you will see that your journey has been worthwhile! Within 30 minutes drive you can enjoy: - Pleasurewood Hills theme park between Lowestoft and Gt. Yarmouth. - Minsmere Bird Reserve and Visitor Centre. - The town of Southwold, where Adnams brew their beer and you will find good pubs, walks along the seafront and shops. - Dunwich Forest: the largest forest in the area with herds of deer.
