A few examples are: Giethoorn, also called ‘the Venice of the north’ (10 km), National Park De Weerribben (13 km), National Park Het Drents Friese Wold (16 km) and National Park Dwingelderveld (23 km). For an impressive day trip, visit the megalithic tombs (hunebedden) and heaths in Havelte and Diever. Cycling, horse riding, mountain biking, touring on a moped, hiking and touring in a covered wagon are also possible in the direct surroundings.
