Hotel Friends Texel *Situated on Texel Island just 500 metres from the beach and De Koog’s town centre, this low budget hotel has a café with sun terrace, on-site bar and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Hotel Friends Texel’s simply furnished rooms include an in-room wash basin, 2 folding chairs and and a table. Bathrobes are provided in all rooms, and guests have access to shared bathroom facilities. A variety of cocktails and draft beer is served at the bar, and during warm weather guests can enjoy coffee and a newspaper on the sun terrace. Within a 5-minute walk there are several restaurants and a few cafes where breakfast can be bought. Friends Texel Hotel’s guests have free access to Wi-Fi and the computer in the café. Hotel staff can direct guests to nearby walking trails through the dunes and woods. Guests can reach Texel Island via ferry, which takes 20 minutes’ from the Den Helder Ferry Port. Once on the island, Hotel Friends Texel is approximately 15 minutes’ drive. Please note that the parking nearby is subject to availability. Please note that city tax will be charged for a maximum of 7 nights. During high season there may be some noise from outside or from the café downstairs. Children under the age of 18 can only be accommodated when accompanied by an adult. By Ferry: - The ferry to Texel leaves every hour on the half hour from Den Helder, 100 km north of Amsterdam. Sailings are from 06:30 to 21:30. - From Texel the ferry sails from 06:00 to 21:00, leaving every hour on the hour. The boat ride takes approximately 20 minutes. On Sundays and holidays the first ferry leaves one hour later during the summer season and two hours later in winter. On December 31st, the last ferry (both from and to the island) is cancelled. Reservations are not necessary and cannot be made. On busy days an extra ferry rides during peak hours (the ferries leave every half hour). Once on Texel: - From the ferry follow the road signs to De Koog. - In De Koog you continue, taking a right turn automatically. - You will drive past the Texaco petrol station. - Turn left into Nikadel street.
