And yet this oasis is located just 15 minutes from Sheffield and 20 minutes off the M1. In the Gallery Restaurant, imaginative food is created from fresh ingredients and is served in relaxed and sumptuous surroundings. The à la carte menu emphasises the use of fresh ingredients, many locally sourced, but with an unexpected twist here and there. It became the Duke of Devonshire`s property around 1830 and in the early 1970s was rebuilt as the Cavendish by Chatsworth Estate. The original character was preserved and the Duchess of Devonshire selected the decor and furnishings, some of which came from Chatsworth House itself.
