Moorend Park Hotel ****A fine example of a Regency-style building, this family-run hotel combines comfort with a hint of the historic, within reach of the Cotswolds and the Malverns. By Car: From the M5: - Exit via junction 11 onto the A40. - Stay on the A40 into Cheltenham, branching right from Lansdown Road onto Andover Road. - This road becomes Suffolk Road. Continue for approximately 500 metres. - When you pass Andover Street on your right, take the next right turn into Painswick Road. - Continue to the end of this road, out onto the A46 (Shurdington Road). - Take the 1st left into Moorend Park Road, where the hotel is situated. Cheltenham, often described as "Garden town of England", offers a wide variety of cultural interests. In amongst its stylish tree lined avenues and lovely garden parks, there are theatres, art galleries and museums that belay the town`s modest size. A short drive brings you amongst glorious Cotswold villages such as Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-Wold, and the Slaughters. A quick trip along the motorway brings you to Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bristol, Worcester and Warwick. Nearby attractions include: Cheltenham Racecourse (5 km / 3 miles) - home of National Hunt racing and the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup. Prinknash Abbey Bird and Deer Park (13 km / 8 miles) - this 9 acre park, you`ll be greeted by 50 peacocks and waterfowl, along with the inhabitants of the Love Bird Aviary and the pheasants of the Golden Wood. Wild deer roam freely. Gloucester Cathedral (15 km / 9.5 miles) - having been a site of worship for over 1300 years, William the Conqueror ordered the construction of the present building in 1089.
