Brynhonddu Country House B&B ***This friendly, family-run bed and breakfast – voted the best in Wales by overseas visitors (2003) – offers picturesque views over the Black Mountains, within the Brecon Beacons National Park. An historic country house setting, surrounded by some of the best walking areas in the country, the estate boasts extensive and varied flora and fauna, with 51 types of tree and 47 different bird species within the grounds. Accredited with Welcome Host Gold Level standing and Level 2 Green Dragon Environmental Tourism status. Check-in outside of the published times is only possible by contacting the B&B in advance. It is not possible to connect your own computer to the internet. There is a laptop for public use in the lobby. Payment can be made by cheque. From London: - Take the M4 west and exit at junction 24. - Head north for Monmouth on A449 for 10 miles. - Turn east at Raglan onto the A40 for Abergavenny. - From the main Abergavenny roundabout, take the main A465 road north towards Hereford for 6 miles to Pandy. - At the last pub in the village, The Old Pandy Inn, turn left under the railway bridge and after 300 meters turn on the first left. - After a further 700 metres, turn left at Brynhonddu Lodge up a long, tree-lined drive. The drive is a third of a mile long and at the top, on the left hand side is the car-park. - Follow the left hand fork in the drive up to Reception.
