Minotel La Prairie ***The hotel, with a chalet style, just outside the resort centre, enjoys a quiet location near the Moubra lake, the tennis centre, the riding school and the cross-country ski slopes. Your comfortable room offers a multilingual TV with teletext, a radio, an internet connection and a balcony. We also have a conference room with visible beams, a convivial bar, a living room and a children play room. For entertainment, you may play snookers, table tennis, table football and in summer, jeux de boules ("pétanque") or enjoy the sunny garden and its swimming pool. Worldwide famous, this resort faces South and overhangs the Rhone valley. The domain and its ultramodern infrastructures spread over a plateau at an altitude of 1`500 m. Minotel offers free accommodation and breakfast for 1 child under 12 years old when sharing a room with 2 adults; other meals are to be paid at the hotel directly. In such a case, the client shall book a double or twin room and add a comment in the "comment box" for an extra bed for a child under 12, and not book a triple room. Two children under 12 travelling with adults (no matter if the adults are staying in a single, double or triple room) will be accommodated in a twin room and pay the price of a double room for single occupancy. The dining room as well as the restaurant `Le Chaudron`, serve nicely prepared food. They are spacious and luminous, while the `carnotzet` with its rustic Valaisan setting has a cosy ambiance. You will be able to appreciate your breakfast on one of our terraces, while admiring the astounding panorama over the snow-covered summits. If the booking is cancelled more than 2 days before the day of arrival, no charge applies. If the booking is cancelled from 2 days before the day of arrival on, the charge will be 100% of the whole stay. In case you would not arrive at the hotel, the charge will be 100% of the whole stay. Each started stay is entirely due to Minotel. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. Rates are per room per night including continental breakfast and vat (and local taxes) at the current rate. Full payment will be taken by Minotel, using your selected payment and extra charges, prior to departure from the Hotel. Cancellations: please cancel your reservation online. Distance from airport: Geneva 180 km, Zurich 295 km. Distance from railway station: Montana (funicular) 1 km, Sierre 15 km. By car: Coming from Geneva/Lausanne, from Bern, Grand St-Bernard on the motorway A9 (N9): take exit motorway Sierre-West and follow Montana direction passing by Chermignon, you arrive at Montana-Village, where you turn right towards Montana-Cliniques. You follow the Route de la Moubra for approximately 1.6 km. Coming out of the forest, the Moubra lake will be on your left, take right at the roundabout, you are now on the Route de la Prairie and Minotel is approximately 250 m further up, on your left. Coming from Brig/Simplon by the Main road 9: Before the motorway Sierre-East entry, follow the Main road 9 on the right, in the direction of Sierre, then turn right and follow Crans-Montana direction over 13 km until the Montana-Center. At the roundabout turn left on Chemin du Cimetière after 180 m, continue straight on the Chemin de Coudra after approximately 150 m, turn left on the Route de la Prairie and the Minotel is at approximately 100 m further down, on your right. By train and funicular or bus: The Swiss train company CFF offers many daily international connections, between France/Geneva/Lausanne and Brig/Simplon/Italy. The trains InterRegio, Regio and Direct stop in Sierre/Siders. The Sierre/Siders CFF train station is at approximately 10 km from the hotel From the CFF train station go to the funicular SMC (Sierre- Crans-Montana). Take the Avenue General-Guisan on your left, after approximately 300 m, the funicular station is located on your right. The funicular brings you up to the last stop Montana- Vermala (departure every 30 minutes for a 12 to 20 minutes journey). From there we advise you to take a taxi for the remaining kilometer or to contact the hotelier in advance. He will be pleased to organise a private shuttle to pick you up. If you prefer walking, follow the Avenue de la Gare to the roundabout, then turn left on the Chemin du Cimetière. After 180 m, continue straight on the Chemin de Coudra, after approximately 150 m, turn left on the Route de la Prairie and the Minotel is at approximately 100 m on your right. From Sierre/Siders CFF train station, some SMC coaches are also avaible, and from Sion, some Postal buses which reach the Montana-Vignettes stop in approximately 35 to 45 minutes. From there, continue about 800 m while following the Route de Rawly to the roundabout, go straight on to the Chemin du Cimetière, after 180 m, continue straight on the Chemin de la Coudra and after approximately 150 m, turn left on the Route de la Prairie - the Minotel is located approximately 100 m further on your right. However, we advise you to take a taxi or to contact the hotelier in advance. He will be pleased to organise a private shuttle to pick you up. Depending on the seasons, a free shuttle service runs in the resort, connecting various bus stops, the funicular, the ski-lifts, as well as the sporting centers and the lakes. Close to the hotel, a few minutes away, you can practice all sort of sports and relaxing activities which this resort offers you: Tennis and squash, many swimming pools, the beach of the Moubra lake, water skiing or wakeboarding on the "Etang-Long", beach-volleyball; 280 km of footpath trails, indoor horse-riding or along 30 km of paths, hiking, paragliding, rafting and canoeing, mountain biking, golf (one 18 holes, two 9 holes courses and an "Indoor with driving swing to analyze & video"), archery, hot air balloon or helicopter flights. In winter, on a regular basis, the vast Alpine skiing domain welcomes a number of world cup competitions. You can practice the cross country skiing, the toboggan, ice-skating...
