Located in Zao Pension Village, Pension Apple features a large award-winning garden, a 24-hour hot spring bath and an open-air hot spring that overlooks the valley. It offers bicycle rentals and a free shuttle to/from Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Area.

Western meals are served at the dining room, and feature Yamagata-gyu beef. The Pension boasts a wide selection of good wines and cheeses from France, Italy and Germany.
