The Stage Post [Apartments]At The Stage Post, you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome from our staff and regular locals. We have a spacious restaurant with extensive a la carte menu and offer bar snacks for those who are short of time. Our food is highly rated and freshly prepared for you by our team of chefs, lead by renowned local head chef Clive Radford-Hancock. To compliment the food we offer a wide range of fine wines and excellent ales. You will also be able to relax in our lounge bar or enjoy the traditional public bar with bar games which include pool, darts and various box games. At night this bar is very popular with young people and creates a lively atmosphere. We benefit from having a late licence and are open till 1am during the week and 2am at weekends and you will always be welcome to join in the fun. Outside we also offer a quiet beer garden - the perfect spot to while away a summer`s afternoon. Part of the pub dates back to 1650 but the site is believed to have monastic heritage dating back to the 1200s. Over the years there have been many claims of ghostly sightings and occurrences and you are sure to hear a tale or two if you are brave enough to ask. Devizes is just 10 minutes away by car and there are good local travel services available to the many nearby attractions. Notably these include Longleat Safari Park, Stonehenge, Avebury, Silbury Hill, Salisbury Cathedral and the Roman Baths at the fine city of Bath. There are many other places to visit and some stunning countryside walks, trails and cycle paths. The harvester suite provides function/conference room facilities for up to 75 theatre style, 100 for buffets or 160 for music and dance. We cater for weddings, parties and business events with computer link large screen projection and audio, TV, video and DVD available. Please ask for an information pack. The Stage Post Pub and Hotel is set on the north edge of Salisbury Plain in the heart of Wiltshire. We have wireless Internet and our location is ideal to explore Stonehenge and Longleat Safari Park. You will not be disappointed, from bar snacks to a la carte, lunch time to Sunday menu, there is sure to be something to tempt you. Catering for a wide range in tastes and dietary needs from vegetarian options to meals suitable for diabetics, we aim to please. If you have a big appetite then there is plenty to choose from and if it`s not on the menu (which has a selection of over 50 main courses + the specials board) and we have the ingredients, we will do our best to provide. Our fresh local produce includes vegetables, cheese, fish and meat. When in season such delicacies as venison, pheasant and duck will be available, or try something different like bison or even kangaroo. Of course, there will always be the traditional meals such as steak and ale pie, all cooked fresh to order. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All older children or adults are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs GBP 0.60 per hour. Meal Plan: Breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking: Free Public parking is possible on site. Pets: Pets are not allowed. Please note that we have a late license, Mon-Wed 1am, Thu-Sat 2am, Sun 11.30pm and some rooms, particularly the triple may be affected by loud music. Bookings for large parties and the function room will require a non-refundable deposit. Directions: From A303, take A344 at Stonehenge towards Devizes, follow road (changes to A360) until you get to the village of West Lavington. From Devizes, follow the A360 towards Salisbury until you get to the village of West Lavington. The Stage Post is located on the east side of the road in the centre of the village.
