Covenanters Inn ***A very friendly family welcome awaits you at the historic Covenanters` Inn. Run by Louise and Douglas Harrison, the Inn is located in the small country village of Auldearn, just 2 miles from Nairn between Inverness (capital of the Highlands) and the historic town of Elgin in Moray. Inverness Airport is just eight miles away. It is an ideal location from which to explore the magnificent scenery of the North and West Highlands, Moray, Speyside, the Cairngorms and Aberdeenshire. Whether you are here for the history, the whisky or the outdoor life, there`s something for everyone! Douglas, Louise and their daughters look forward to welcoming you to The Covenanters. Children are well catered for with the indoor Kiddies Cove, outdoor play area and, of course, their own special menu. The Harrison girls are often on hand to meet some of the younger guests. Children`s rates are included within the family room prices. The Covenanters` Inn is renowned for its variety of good food cooked using local produce. The Eren Restaurant provides a more formal dining atmosphere, mainly used for special occasions and parties. Breakfast is also served here. The Kiln Lounge Bar (recently refurbished) offers excellent food in historic surroundings (see sample menu below). It is situated in the `mill` section of the building. During its refurbishment, the old beams were exposed and now the actual kiln and some of the original workings are open to view. On Christmas day, breakfast is served (after Santa has visited Claire and Laura), the bar is then open from 12 till 2pm (only packed lunches available)and the bar then reopens at 7pm for drinks and evening meals. We are just 25 minutes drive from Inverness and Elgin and less than 15 minutes drive to Inverness Airport Flights British Airways (London Gatwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Scottish islands), Easyjet (London Gatwick and London Luton), BMI (London Heathrow) and Eastern Airways (Manchester and Birmingham) all operate daily flights to Inverness Airport. Aberdeen Airport is serviced by British Airways, Ryanair, British Midland, KLM and many other airlines. Train There are regular daily trains from London and Glasgow/Edinburgh to Inverness and to Aberdeen. Nairn railway station is on the main line between Inverness and Aberdeen. It is just a short taxi or bus ride from there to the Inn. Coach We are on the main bus route between Inverness and Aberdeen. Buses run every 20 minutes during the day and there is a bus stop outside the Inn. Coach connections are available to Edinburgh and Glasgow via Inverness. Car Rental Vehicles can be hired at Inverness and Aberdeen (from the railway stations, airports or city centre). It is advisable to book in advance. The Covenanters Inn is situated in an ideal location for exploring Inverness, Loch Ness, Forres, Findhorn, Elgin, Kinloss, Lossiemouth, Aviemore, Carrbridge and Grantown (plus many other Highland, Moray and Speyside attractions).
