Grapevine Hotel ***Set in the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, this beautiful, award-winning 17th century hotel has become justly renowned for its warm hospitality and fine dining. Named after the ancient vine that shades the hotel`s Conservatory Restaurant, The Grapevine offers a compelling combination of the finest accommodation, food, wine and service in the heart of one of the Cotswolds` prettiest towns. The hotel offers 3 different dining options for its guests. The Conservatory Restaurant offers fine dining in one of the most romantic settings in the Cotswolds. Here guests dine by candle and fairy light, beneath the century-old Black Hamburg grapevine that canopies the Conservatory Restaurant, and from which the hotel derives its name. Literally Italian for "the Grapevine", La Vigna is our Mediterranean Brasserie, serving a fantastic range of pizzas, pasta, tapas and classic British bistro dishes. Gigot Bar serves the same brasserie menu as La Vigna, together with a tempting range of specials and sandwiches. Local ales, and a selection of fine beers and wines complete the picture. Stow-on-the-Wold is known as the antique centre of the Cotswolds. Its attractive mellow Cotswold stone houses, the ancient stocks on the green and little passageways, date back to the days when sheep were herded through the market square in the heyday of the wool trade. Stow was welcoming visitors before 1107 AD when King Henry I established a town market. In 1476 King Edward IV granted, by Charter, two fairs which to this day are held in May and October.
