Bryn-y-Ddafad ****This guest house is situated in a peaceful, rural location in the delightful countryside of the Vale of Glamorgan, just 4 miles from the M4 junction 34 and 3 miles from Cowbridge. The property is comprised of a spacious guest house together with a detached annex offering ground floor accommodation suitable for guests with limited mobility. Enjoy a restful night`s sleep in a comfortable bed, followed by a scrumptious Welsh breakfast. Glyn and June aim to make your stay relaxing, enjoyable and memorable. Rooms are light and airy and those in the main house have views of the surrounding countryside. In addition to the bedrooms, guests staying in the house have access to a first floor lounge and also to a sun lounge below, leading to the attractive rear garden and patio area. The annex has a front door leading to a parking area and a rear door leading to the garden. Safe off-road parking is available and the guest house is strictly non-smoking. Breakfast is served between 07:30 and 09:30, and is inclusive in the tariff charged. In addition to the traditional English breakfast, the Welsh version includes laverbread (a traditional speciality) on request. Cooked Vegetarian breakfasts are available, the bacon and sausages are substituted with `Glamorgan sausages` a local speciality. These are homemade using leeks, breadcrumbs, cheese, eggs and fresh herbs. Continental breakfasts are available, including a selection of fresh fruits according to season. Guests requiring gluten and dairy-free options can be catered for. An early check-in time may be possible by prior arrangement. We recommend that guests have their own transport as the nearest regular public transport is from Cowbridge, which is 3 miles away. We can recommend a reliable local taxi service. Bryn-y-Ddafad is situated in a peaceful rural location midway between the M4 and the A48. The guest house is situated 17 km from the centre of Cardiff and the exciting waterfront of Cardiff Bay. It is 4.7 km from Cowbridge - a historic market town with many fine restaurants and shops. Also lying close by are the Grade I listed Duffryn Gardens and the highly acclaimed Museum of Welsh Life. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is just 12 km away, whilst the Gower Coast, the Brecon Beacons and the Valleys are all within easy reach, making Bryn-y-Ddafad an ideal base from which to tour South-East Wales. Fine golf courses, fishing and forest walks are all close by.
