By Air (from London Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted Airports): Frequent coach services depart from Heathrow and Gatwick airports to Oxford. The Gatwick coach (X80) departs from the south terminal, bay 8 and the north terminal, bay 4. The Heathrow coach (X70) departs from the coach terminal at terminals 1, 2 and 3, at bay 10 or from terminal 4 at bay 19. These services are run by Oxford Express. The Stansted coach runs from Oxford to Cambridge and stops at Stansted Airport. By Coach: Coaches from London, and from Heathrow and Gatwick airports, arrive at the Gloucester Green coach station, which is just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. Use local buses 5, 5A, 5B or 1. The boarding point for the 5, 5A and 5B is at Queen Street and the boarding point for the number 1 bus is at the Golden Cross, which is on Cornmarket Street, near the junction with the High Street. By Train: Buses run regularly from the Oxford railway station to Cowley. The number 5 bus, which goes to Blackbird Leys, runs every 12 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays. On Sundays, it runs every 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can get a taxi from just outside the train station. Oxford is in the heart of England and is easy to reach from London and the South, as well as the North, Birmingham and beyond, via the M40 motorway. Oxford is also within easy reach of the West Country, via the M4 motorway and the A34. Wales and the Lake District are within a day`s drive. The city’s central location and rich history makes it a good place to include in a UK tour. The guest house is located in the centre of East Oxford, which has its own shopping area and is conveniently located for the Nuffield, Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals. It is also close to the business park, Oxford Brookes University and within easy reach of Oxford city centre by car, by taxi or by bus. A coach stop to London, or its airports, is within 10 minutes’ walking distance of the house. Coaches to London run regularly every 10 minutes.
