Whitley Hall Hotel ****Whitley Hall Hotel is an ivy-clad, 16th century mansion that provides an elegant and romantic setting north of Sheffield city centre and just 2 miles from junction 35 of the M1. The hotel building has an interesting history and it retains many of its beautiful period architectural features. Legend has it that Mary Queen of Scots stayed here whilst in the custody of the Earl of Shrewsbury.
