Black Mountain Lodge ****This lovely, old stone building is at the foothills of the Black Mountains amid beautiful countryside and views of the Brecon Beacons. It has a restful feel, comfortable rooms and a free Wi-Fi zone. The oldest part of Black Mountain Lodge is believed to date back to the 17th century. It has ample free parking and a bar and restaurant open from 18:00 to 21:30 Thursday to Monday. The Lodge is in the village of Glasbury, between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, and is ideal for a peaceful country break. A wide of range of activities is available in the local area. Hay-on-Wye is the second-hand-book capital of the world and holds a literary festival every May. Brecon is a small market town with several museums including the Welsh Boarders.
