The centuries old Bergher Wood. which stretches into Germany. is only a stones throw from the house. The 1800 hectare protected wood is between s-Heerenberg. Doetinchem and Didam. It is surrounded by fields and meadows and is perfect for walking and cycling. The impressive medieval castle Huis Bergh is at the edge of nearby s-Heerenbergh. It is the biggest castle in the Achterhoek. A visit to the cities of Arnhem (20 km). Doetinchem (14 km). Doesburg (9 km) and Bronckhorst. the smallest city in the Netherlands (20 km). are all highly recommended.
