The Hotel Valide Sultan Konagi, or Mansion of the Queen Mother, is located appropriately just outside the walls of Topkapi Palace in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. Grand (for its size), with a true Ottoman feeling to it: the hotel offers gilded furniture, rich curtains and mouldings, many mirrors, and Queen Motherly touches of decor in many of the rooms. The Valide Sultan`s location is excellent. At the quiet northern end of Kutllugun Sok, right across the street from the Four Season Hotel. Ayasofya (St.Sophia) and the gate to Topkapi Palace are both a 2-minute walk away. The hotel`s roof terrace has unobstructed views of the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara, St.Sophia and of the Topkapi Palace walls.
