The beautiful village of Myrtos lies around a small bay in the south of Crete. It hosts a valley containing citrus and olive groves and banana trees that spreads to the east. There are two historical settlements near Myrtos and a Roman bath in the west of the village. Visitors will enjoy exploring the ancient sites around the village and along the small hills of the area. Myrtos Vally is home to the largest rocky bridge of Crete and Crete’s famous gorges, Sarakina and Selakano, are also close by. The lake of Bramiana, featuring over 220 varieties of birds, is an excellent location for nature lovers. Boat journeys from Ierapetra to the famous Chrissi Island happen frequently during the day and take just 50 minutes.
